Self-Etch / Self-Adhesive Self Cure Resin Cement

No need for acid etching and bonding application. Maxcem Elite self-etch, self-adhesive resin-based cement provides stronger adhesion and ease of use without compromising the bonding performance in indirect restorations. It is easy to clean and does not require hand mixing or refrigeration. It can be easily applied in hard-to-reach areas, thanks to special intraoral and canal application tips.

Features:

  • High Bond Strength: Offers a bond strength of 22-36 MPa depending on the bonding surface (Enamel: 22 MPa, Dentin: 24 MPa, Zirconia: 28 MPa, Porcelain: 30 MPa).
  • Easy Application: Does not require refrigeration, easy to clean, and no mixing needed.
  • Intraoral and Canal Application Tips: Makes it easy to apply in both intraoral and canal applications.
  • Compatible with All Restorative Materials: Bonds to ceramic restorations, porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM), full metal restorations, and CAD-CAM materials.
  • Effective Self-Cure: Fully polymerizes even in situations where light cannot reach.

Application Procedure:

  1. Temporary Restoration Removal: The temporary restoration is removed.
  2. Cement Removal: Cement is removed without damaging tissue using the recommended Kerr Opti Clean cement remover.
  3. Rinse and Dry: The area is rinsed and air-dried, ensuring not to over-dry the region.
  4. Cement Selection: The desired Kerr Maxcem cement shade is selected.
  5. Automix Application: Attach the automatic mixing tip to the syringe and expel a small amount of material, which should not be used.
  6. Inlay/Onlay Application: Apply Maxcem directly to the treatment area, covering all surfaces, and allow the cement to flow out as the restoration is slowly seated in the preparation.
  7. Crown Application: Apply Maxcem directly inside the restoration or treatment area, covering all surfaces, and allow the cement to flow out as the restoration is slowly seated.
  8. Post Application: Prepare the post area, fit the post, and seat it directly into the cement.
    • After seating the post, perform a slight rocking motion to avoid trapped air and allow the cement to flow slowly into the canal.
  9. Waiting Time: Wait 90 seconds before curing and remove excess cement with Kerr OptiClean.
  10. Light Curing: Hold the light for 2 seconds to bring the cement to a gel-like consistency and wait 2-3 minutes for it to self-cure.
    • After removing excess cement, light cure all surfaces, including margins.
  11. Recommended Light: Kerr LE Demetron II (5 seconds).
  12. Final Steps: Polish the restoration and check the occlusion to complete the procedure.
